Remember that final scene in Lost In Translation where Bill Murray whispered an unscripted line into Scarlett Johanson’s ear? The line that both actors swore that they would never reveal?
Somebody finally figured it out.

Due to holiday recoveries and a effort to try and fix up the now Uber Belated Christmas Episode of R5 Central after a rather big production snag, there will be no Friday ACE this week. Things will get back on track next week, I promise.
In the meantime, here’s Godiego In A Pill.
As of late, I’ve been following the Japanese web series, Vending Machine Red.
Basically take the staples of 1970’s tokusatsu, set a majority of it in Akihabara with a sexy android assistant/arch-nemesis, and turn your main heroes into two robotic Coca-Cola vending machines, and that sums up the chaos and awesomeness that is Vending Machine Red.
Sadly though, just in time for the holidays, the series has had its final episode, “Vending Machine Red, Throughout Eternity…”. Forgive me while I sob manly tears for our heroes….
However, fear not brave fans, I have recieved the following message from the maker/creator of the show via Youtube after my comments of manly tears:
hey ya
thanks for comment
wait for the 2nd season
…THE LEGEND SHALL NEVER DIE!!!

The first episode of Macross Frontier aired during a 25th Anniversary Special last night and the fandom is ablaze, I of course am no exception to this and have felt the Hot Blooded Urge to give my two cents about this big event. So without futher ado…
WATASHI NO BLOG WO KIKE!!
…sorry.
So I’ve gone and taken the next big step. R5 Central has an official YouTube Channel now entitled R5 The Live. With the next year, I’m hoping to fill it full of interview clips and all sorts of random odds and ends. Keep an eye on it.
In the meantime, here’s the first clip, shot (and almost forgotten about) at ACEN 07: “Ode to That Guy”. Warning: It may get a bit sappy.
So this past weekend, Goku from DBZ, Naruto, Luffy from One Piece, and the Lancelot from Code Geass all made appearances on Second Life to coincide with Jump Festa.
Not only will the characters appear in Second Life, but each will display his signature special attack: Kamehame-ha for Goku, Rasengan (”Spiral Chakra Sphere”) for Naruto, and the gatling gun for Luffy. Second Life will also host “Jumpland Capsule,” a prize game in which players can win exclusive Jumpland t-shirts and blouses for their avatars. If a user finds and gathers seven Dragon Balls during those days, he or she can summon the Shenlong dragon god.
As for the Code Geass portion of it, you could have gotten free school uniforms and a limited edition Lancelot avatar. Click the pic to check out a video of it in action.
I’m actually tempted to check this out myself…then I remember all the sex slave stuff and other fun encounters associated with this game and that impulse quickly fades away.
I think it’d be fitting to start on a song.
This rendition of Cantata no. 147 comes courtesy of Omodaka. They’ve done some awesome stuff and even contributed to the album “Holy 8bit Night” which came out a month ago.
However, as we enter the final countdown to Christmas Day, I present to you this offering of Friday ACE.
According to various boards, Zaido: Pulis Pangkawalakan has been extended in episodes and will conclude in February instead of January as it’s doing well in ratings. At the same time people are raving about the first appearance of their ship’s Robot Mode which made its appearance last night and this whole thing has left me quite puzzled.
Now explain this to me. How is it that this…
…Somehow translates into this suit here?
Enclosed is a clip to show you the monstrosity that makes Flash Titan look like a Shoji Kawamori masterpiece in action. Fast forward to 4:18 to see it for yourself.
I think the real question I have right now: Why do people actually like this? Even more to the point, why the hell is Toei approving this? Is anybody from the original show watching this or have The Powers That Be washed their hands clean of it and just nod at anything GMA wants to do? Because it sure as hell seems like it at this point.
I’m reminded of that episode of South Park where the only reason a certain show was doing well was because people were watching it while high. I’m thinking that this definitely has to be the case here and I demand to know what you’re on because that must be some really potent stuff to make this look golden.
In the meantime, I leave you with this pearl of wisdom to spread amongst the masses.
