All Things Voice Over

To try and make this blog more useful, I’ve cooked up this fancy mini resume site. It’s still under construction as I’m finding links and checking back on roles…

What started out as a search for voices for an indie tokusatsu production that was never meant to be turned into the beginnings of Mike Dent’s head-first plunge into the fiery voice acting pathos.

Having been in art schools since the tender age of 4, Mike had never been fully bitten by the acting bug until the early 2000’s when, after an attempt to make his own movie fell through, he was drafted into doing a radio play for the anime series, Inu-Yasha.

Even though said radio play never saw the light of day, this led to more fandub clips until Mike finally gained enough gall to produce his own work using the outdated yet sacred grail of audio editing software that is Cool Edit Pro.

Since then, Mike has been writing, producing, directing, and acting in numerous radio play productions. In the meantime, he serves as the host and producer of the Parsec Award-nominated podcast, R5 Central, and writes a regular column in Otaku USA Magazine.

And even after all of this, he still hasn’t upgraded Cool Edit.
