While GC isn't quite as good as Neo on a gameplay level, it would be even better for a J9 series fan and is much easier to play for import fans (just buy a swap disc and it plays on any GameCube). You can also control Braiger in Super Robot Taisen Alpha Gaiden, an older PSX game that has been translation patched. The patch is lousy in some respects but eminently playable; the game itself initially got me interested in Braiger many years ago.
