Okay, I know. I’m sorry. This should have been out sooner but anticipation for numerous things coming out this weekend has had me rather distracted.
Aside from Shin Mazinger, Basquash made it’s premiere yesterday and then Dragon Ball Kai is coming later today. I’m really excited to see how that particular one is going to turn out. But yes, in the meantime, here’s a very belated, very short, and very last minute Friday ACE.
–Samurai Princess: ANOTHER new movie from the crew that brought us Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police!
From CREi via Twitch:
Erotic-grotesque action film from Japan to the worldwide viewers! Produced by Yoshihiro Nishimura, a world-famous special effects director!
The story takes place sometime, somewhere in a world during the Samurai era, where people live together with highly developed mechanical dolls. However, excessively developed mechanical dolls start causing harm to the human society, leading to ghastly bloodsheds happening all over the place.
Under the circumstances, Kyoraku, a mad scientist, creates a female ninja mechanical doll. Equipped with 11 types of built-in weapons, the ninja doll, who will not die even if she is slashed by a sword or shot by a gun, is virtually indestructible.
My main issue with Tokyo Gore Police was that, while the story was solid enough, the gore was played up too much to the point where it wasn’t as enjoyable as Machine Girl. Two to one, we get something more in the vein of Hard Revenge Milly where it’s mild at best. All the same, I’m hoping Media Blasters is all over this in releasing it stateside.
–And finally, congrats are in order to one of my favorite Japanese bands, GReeeeN! One of their members passed the dentistry exam!
….Okay, I know it sounds weird but it’s part of their gimmick. All four members of the band have never shown their faces in the public. Not for interviews or photos, not even for concerts; their true identities are shrouded in secrecy. The group has vowed though that the moment all of them pass the Japanese dentistry exam that they’ll reveal their true faces.
As of this week, the two remaining members that need to pass, SOH and navi, took their exams. navi passed while SOH unfortunately came close but didn’t make the cut. SOH promises that he’ll take the exam next year and we here at Justice ACE (read “Me, Myself, and I”) wish him the best of luck!
TANGENT OF THE WEEK
Ever since the inception of Youtube Annotations, people have been trying to make their own little interactive clips from time to time. Most of them tend to fall flat….until now.
Here for you now is the first clip in the series for “The Murder”….
Think you can navigate our heroes to safety? Give it a shot!
Sylvester Stallone goes Bollywood. Don’t you just love these precis mentions that make you fall out of your chair just a bit? :P
That’s it for this week’s Friday ACE. Now, Total Ownage on Stilts.
